Project Output:

Develop a prototype on an FPGA for the enhanced engines. We plan to tackle three problems throughout the project duration: (1) what are the most efficient CORDIC iterations that can be used in all butterflies in the modified FFT structure to have the best performance, (2) how can this modified FFT structure be used to enhance the performance of partial FFT, where only a subset of the output of the FFT needs to be generated, and (3) how can the new architecture be implemented in a flexible way to support adaptive operation based on the received signal to noise ratio.
