The event in Dubai is a regional event with attendees from different Gulf countries (excluding Saudi Arabia) in the GCC region who would prefer having the event in Dubai. We will also be targeting specialized Abu-Dhabi based systems integrators who will be invited to the Dubai event. |

Hosting the event in the targeted markets gives a good chance for system integrators and channel partners to get introduced to Egyptian companies. After the relation between both parties develops we can assess the potential of having a regional event in Egypt. |

IDC's role within this project is to understand what the appetite, demand and requirements are for partnership from the Gulf companies and to support the Egyptian companies in correctly positioning to satisfy these requirements. IDC will target the communication with the Gulf companies to focus on need fulfillment. By following a research led Go to Market strategy, the Egyptian companies, with the support of IDC & ITIDA will be positioning solutions that satisfy a need rather than doing a generic sales pitch. Unlike other consulting firms, IDC is exclusively focused on the IT & Telco sector and have long-standing and strong relationships with the Gulf based organizations. Given our traditional focus on these markets, IDC have helped and assisted Gulf companies for many years, we believe our relationships in the Gulf will come in handy during the interview process. IDC will be guiding each short listed company on the operating environment within each country, the challenges, hurdles, obstacles, competitive environment etc during the workshops, as these will be the areas that the Egyptian companies will need to be able to effectively tackle during the one-on-one meetings. IDC will also be analyzing drivers and inhibitors within each Gulf country and these will be submitted to ITIDA who will work with other stakeholders to try over come some of these obstacles. |

IDC sizes and forecasts each market and has a strong understanding of dynamics of each region and will be advising the short listed companies during the workshops. |

In terms of the potential opportunity for the Egyptian companies, it is too premature to comment at this stage of the project as we are only entering the opportunity assessment phase now. We would have a much stronger idea of the demand post the research phase. It is a pilot program and the research on both sides will give us a more realistic assessment of the real opportunity. It is critical to understand that this is a long- term program, and should this be successful, this pilot program will be replicated to other regions in the world. |

We realize that some companies will be more ready than others to engage quickly in partnership and we realize that there may be short term opportunities uncovered during the course of the program, however, in order to be successful, this project needs to be very process driven as it is part of a broader development strategy. |

The program is a horizontal program, and it’s focused on supporting the ICT companies in developing partnership opportunities. In the future there will be other vertical programs that serve specific niches. |

ITIDA and RITI have scheduled for 8 rounds of RAMP to accommodate a total of 240 participants. |

RAMP costs 9000 EGP per participant and ITIDA is going to cover 85% of this cost and the company pays 15% of the rest. |

| How frequent are the program’s sessions? And at what timings are they held? |
It depends on the intake that you are enrolled in. For some intakes, sessions will be conducted twice per week during the afternoons from 18:00 till 22:00. For other intakes sessions will be conducted once per week on Saturdays from 9:00 till 17:00. |

Participants are going to receive original textbooks for a selected number of courses and training material for a selected number of courses. They will also have access to RITI labs (only if labs are free) for the whole program’s duration. |

| Upon completion of the program, what certificates do I receive? |
Upon successful completion of the RAMP, each participant will be granted:
- A certificate of accomplishment by the end of the module only if s/he managed to attend a minimum of 75% of the module's sessions and passed the module's assessment based on the predefined assessment criteria. If s/he failed any module, s/he will continue with the track and will have to re-attend the failed module to be financed by his company with another RAMP round.
- By the end of the RAMP round, each participant will be granted a certificate of accomplishment only is s/he has successfully completed the eight RAMP modules

Grow IT aims to improve local and international competitiveness of ICT companies in Egypt, and Enhance capacity building measures to achieve internal and external strategic growth.

- To develop and implement a business transformation program that enhances their competitive potential.

The methodology is composed of a number of processes and analytical tools that cover 7 generic business areas: Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, Project Management, and Innovation management. Companies go through 3 phases of Assessment, Implementation and Post-Assessment to guarantee that KPIs are met and maturity growth is achieved in the implemented business upgrade plans. A pre-assessment phase precedes the start of the program to approve enterprises to receive the program services. |
| When is batch 3 expected to start? |
The Pre-assessment of the program is expected to start in June 2015, followed by the assessment phase. |

Two consortiums of local consultancy firms are involved in implementing phase 3 of the GrowIT program.
- The first one lead by CID:
The CID consortium partners have served a multitude of ICT companies and have a strong understanding of their business and needs. Moreover CID Consulting was the exclusive local consortium member of GrowIT1 and helped dramatically improve the operational and strategic outlook of the ICT companies involved.
This consortium targets Medium size enterprises.
- The second one lead by Logic consulting:
LOGIC Management Consulting” – the first of LOGIC Holding companies – was established with the aim of empowering companies to operate in an institutional fashion, adopt scientific approaches to planning, strategic management, talent management, and integrate successfully into the global value chain.
This consortium targets Micro and Small size enterprises.

| What is the duration of the program? |
Once a company passes the pre-assessment phase, a contract is signed with ITIDA for the program execution. The actual consultancy services delivery takes around 4 months per each company on average. |
| What are the eligibility criteria of applying companies? |
Participating companies should meet the following eligibility criteria
Eligibility Criteria:
- More than 50% Egyptian owned.
- Registered in ITIDA database.
- Headquartered in Egypt.
- A considerable list of customer references.
- Availability of a high-level business plan that’s followed (On-Site Pre-assessment).
- A Sustainable business model (On-Site Pre-assessment).
- Enough human resources to implement the upgrade plans.
- Innovating new products and services.
- Serving multiple markets through multiple branches (Medium-sized enterprises only).

| What is the cost of participation in the program? |
ITIDA Subsidizes differently based on the company’s size as follows:
- Micro: 90%
- Small: 80%
- Medium: 70%
The share of the enterprise is paid in two installments: 50% down-payment effective after signing the contract and at the start of the consultation services delivery.
Additionally, another 50% upon completion of the beneficiary company’s business upgrade plan and adjusted according to the exact number of days consumed.

To help achieve its aim of promoting Egypt within the ICT sector, ITIDA has established a new event strategy that will see it exhibiting at some of the world’s leading industry events. The primary objective of this strategy is to raise awareness of what Egypt has to offer to local and multinational organizations and to showcase its dynamism as a world-class outsourcing location.
The main objectives of the program are:
- Supporting local companies: Penetrating international markets, establishing new business leads, increasing exports of products and services.

- Collective Events Participation:
Offers the opportunity for companies to participate under the Egyptian Pavilion in the most exposed and highly rated IT events around the world as part of the Egyptian delegation. Companies are offered a particular package to participate as exhibitors under ITIDA’s auspices in a branded country pavilion in specific events. - Single Intervention Service
It is meant for a specific trade fair that is not included on ITIDA’s annual collective events calendar, does not witness the participation of an Egyptian pavilion and/or is only targeted by a few number of companies due to various reasons. The “single intervention” service is designed to encourage IT companies to apply for the financial support and gain access to such specific events either in the local or international markets.

The “Business Trips” program is designed to encourage IT companies to gain more access to the international markets and engage with new clients aboard and even to maintain their relationship with their existing pool of clients outside the local market. This program applies to small and medium size companies with business travels or journeys to discuss business matters with clients or engage in any business-related activity while the travel costs are cited as one of the main cost burdens and obstacles for doing business for them.

| What kind of financial support is offered by ITIDA in the events program? |
The financial support offered by ITIDA starting from 2012 is directly related to the number of participations of the company in the event in question. In other words, ITIDA covers 80% of the total participation fees for first time participants and 70% for second time participants in the same event, 60% for third time in the same event, and 25% for the fourth time or more.
The above rates are applied for all the services of the events program.

| What are the eligibility criteria for applying companies? |
Companies participating in the events program should meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Egyptian-owned company with more than 50% Egyptian ownership (or under control of an Egyptian Board for public companies).
- Headquartered in Egypt with at least 80% of company payroll is based in Egypt.
- Have at least 10 registered full time employees.
- Completion of the company’s registration on ITIDA’s online database.

In order to select the final participating companies, ITIDA applies the following criteria on all requested companies:
- Relevancy of the Company’s Activity VS Exhibition Specialization
- Relevancy of the Company’s Activity VS IT Strategy

- Export Experience or Export Potential
- Availability of Quality certifications
Each company at the end of the selection process will be granted a final score and companies are chosen according to the final scores and according to the required number of participants needed which varies from an event to another .

- Beneficiary Company’s Ownership:
Direct Egyptian ownership (direct ownership of Egyptian individuals and/or Egyptian companies) should represent more than 50% of the beneficiary company’s capital.
Direct Egyptian ownership means that the beneficiary company should be more than 50% owned by Egyptians whether individuals or companies established in accordance with the Egyptian law. Therefore, companies established abroad – whether partially or wholly owned by Egyptians - will not be eligible when calculating the percentage of the Egyptian ownership.
Companies with floating shares are requested to submit report from Misr for Central Clearing Depository & Registry (MCDR) شركة مصر للمقاصة والقيد والإيداع المركزي illustrating % of Egyptian ownership as of 31/12/2012.
- Beneficiary Company Headquarters:
Company should be headquartered in Egypt
Note:
companies established under the Egyptian law in Free Zones in Egypt could be eligible under the program. |
| What are the types of services eligible under the program? |

Types of services eligible under the program:
Software development, information and communication technology (ICT) services in addition to ICT enabled services*. Pure hardware exports are excluded. Embedded software or devices included in the export sales agreement or were considered necessary for the delivery of the service can be included in export rebate calculations based on export contract, program consultant review report and based on Export-IT committee’s decision.
* Cases of ICT enabled services would be presented to Export-IT committee on case by case basis for their review and decision on their eligibility under the program.
Note:
- Company’s programs exported should be registered in ITIDAIntellectual Property Rights (IPR) office.
- Selling program licenses of other companies without any value added is not considered eligible for rebate under Export-IT program.

| What kind of export sales could be eligible under the program? |

All export sales of the above-mentioned services contracted and made prior to or in year 2012 can be eligible under the program provided that the related export sales proceeds were transferred by importers and collected by the company in year 2012 as evidenced by the statement of company’s bank account maintained in Egypt (i.e. cash-bases rather than accrual-bases).

Export proceeds should be Traceable. Transfers to the company’s bank account maintained in Egypt should be linked to export projects (for example: through invoices issued by company to importer, importer mentioned in the contract should be the one conducting the transfer…etc).

Export sales should be realized by the company applying for the program (not by affiliate companies located abroad). Export proceeds should be accounted for in the company’s financial statement.
-
Proceeds collected in company’s branches/subsidiaries abroad and not further transferred to the company’s bank account maintained in Egypt are excluded. It should be noted that export proceeds transferred in company’s bank account should be traceable to export transactions.

Exports sales made by the applying company - even if contracted by the company’s affiliate/subsidiary located abroad – can be eligible under the program provided that a proper invoicing system is applied and other program conditions are satisfied.

Proceeds collected in personal accounts of one or more of the company’s owners are excluded even if the amounts were further transferred to the company’s bank account.
-
Export proceeds collected in cash or transferred in EGP would not be eligible under the program.
-
Only services made to companies located outside Egypt - with the exception of services made to International organizations – are considered exports.
-
In case of the importer is an affiliate, sister company, has the same owner(s) ...etc, applying company should present contracts, invoices and bank statements evidencing export transactions with the end client.

| How is the Value Added calculated? |
-
The Value Added is the difference between eligible export sales proceeds collected in the company’s bank account maintained in Egypt during year 2012 and all non-value adding costs directly related to the export transaction claimed under the program such as external consultants fees, license cost…etc. Also travel & accommodation costs explicitly invoiced to the importer are excluded.

Cost NOT deducted from export proceeds: Salaries, operating and overhead costs are not excluded from the value of the collected export proceeds. Also, bank charges are not deducted from the collected amounts.

Exports subsidies include any contracts or agreements signed in 2012 or earlier; however, the payment of export subsidies should be done on cash basis for only 2012, and after verification of receipt of the issuing company in 2012 to its bank account in Egypt of the value of exports subsidized and not on an accrual basis.

| How is the Rebate value calculated? |
- Rebate value is calculated as a percentage of the value-added component with a ceiling of 10% with maximum of 500,000 USD per company per year.
Note: The subsidy granted to the company should not exceed the amount indicated/mentioned in admission form to the program.
- Total rebate budget for the entire program: EGP 50 Million.
- Exact rebate percentage is announced at the end of the program according to the budget approved for the entire program and the applications received.
- Maximum export rebate ceiling (500,000 USD) is applied on individual companies applying separately in the program even if these companies are partially owned by the same holding company.
- In case holding company is the one applying in the program, maximum ceiling (500,000 USD) is applied regardless of the number of companies owned by the applying holding company.
Notes:
- Rebate amount (if approved) will be disbursed to eligible companies in EGP.
- Rebate amount is NOT tax exempted.
- Time frame for receiving complaints is maximum 2 weeks from date of rebate announcement.

-For telemarketing or electronically transmitted sales, company should submit copy of bank cheque issued in the name of the exporting company or company’s bank account statement illustrating collection of proceeds related to the export transaction, report issued by system including transaction details as well as copy of transaction screen shot.
Notes: In case the importer is an affiliate, sister company, has the same owner(s) ...etc, applying company should present contracts, invoices and bank statements evidencing export transactions with the end client.

Information Technology Academia Collaboration (ITAC)’s mission is to bring value to Egyptian ICT Industry by fostering collaboration between industry and academia aiming at developing R&D based innovative products and services that put Egyptian ICT companies in a leading position in the ICT market, both locally and internationally.

| What is the cancellation policy? |
- If cancellation occurs 2 weeks before the beginning of the course, the tuition fees can be totally refunded.
- If cancellation occurs one week before the 1st day of the course, 10% will be deducted for registration process.
- If cancellation occurs within one week before the 1st day of the course, 25% will be deducted for registration process.
- No refund after the course starts.

Yes, you will receive an e-mail confirming that your request has been processed but that does not guarantee acceptance into the training course. |
| When will I will receive acceptance e-mail on attending the training course? |
- A letter of acceptance will be received if the participant is eligible for the course. A training contract will accompany the letter to be signed by the enterprise head and revert it to ITIDA before the course starting date.
- Upon receiving the acceptance e-mail, the necessary documents and the course fees must be delivered and paid at the training provider premises within 5 days from receiving the acceptance e-mail or you may lose the opportunity to enroll in the requested course. The necessary documents to be submitted are:
- Copy of the national ID.
- A stamped Nomination Letter signed by the CEO and HR manager.

| Can an ICT company have two concurrent ITAC Projects? |
An ICT company cannot have two concurrent ITAC funded projects. However, it can submit a new proposal if the current funded project is approaching an end where the ICT company should return the due amount of “partial fund return” before receiving any further support from the program.
