Our Programs & Services

ITIDA actively pursues two broad goals: building the capacities of Egypt’s local information and communications technology (ICT) industry and attracting foreign direct investments to boost the ICT sector locally and globally.

As a government entity, ITIDA works in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the private sector to support the quality of IT services and applications.

ITIDA offers a number of services that are aimed at supporting and nurturing its home ICT industry and ensuring that Egypt is well-equipped to support local and international companies. These services range from support packages for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through to comprehensive education and training packages that focus on developing Egypt’s highly ambitious pool of graduates, in turn feeding the large number of experience IT employees who live and work in the country.

It is through these services and incentives that ITIDA is able to increase local and export demand, develop the skills of its talent base, improve the country’s infrastructure and create an open and secure business environment that is attractive to both local and multinational organizations.

The range of services offered by ITIDA includes;

  • Research and Innovation Support (RIS)

    The Research and Innovation Support (RIS) Department's mission is to support the development of mature innovation management systems in Egyptian ICT SMEs that would enable them to introduce competitive innovative ICT products and services into the marketplace; leading to a considerable boost to our national GDP.

  • Small and Medium Enterprises

    Small and Medium Enterprises are important to the growth of Egypt’s ICT sector and as a result of its tax, custom and financial sector reforms, the country is in a strong position to provide outstanding incubation management to seed and startup IT companies as well as training schemes that develop the skill set of its IT workers.

  • Training

    Key to the growth of Egypt’s ICT industry, ITIDA has established several packages designed to nurture the country’s ICT skill base including the EduEgypt initiative which prepares graduates for the workplace.>

  • International Certification

    As well as training, it is important that companies can demonstrate their skills and professionalism. Through a number of international certification programs, ITIDA support companies to achieve this recognition and improve their skill base.

  • Information Technology Academia Collaboration (ITAC)
    The Information Technology Academia Collaboration promotes research projects that bring value to IT companies, universities, research centers and the wider technological community in Egypt, and has been designed to link industry research with market needs.

  • Industry Development

    ITIDA supports local Egyptian businesses through entering new markets and increasing their exports strengthening business ties with existing markets and enhancing capacities of local start-ups. To help local companies to achieve this, ITIDA has set-up a number of incentives and packages including:

  • Community awareness

    A priority for MCIT and ITIDA is to support the development of the software industry whilst increasing social awareness of intellectual property issues. As a result of these programs, Egypt’s piracy rating has dropped from 69% in 2003 to 59% in 2009 according to the seventh annual BSA and IDC Global Software Piracy Study.
